Las Vegas – Today, the Las Vegas Metro Chamber announces its endorsement of Cedric Crear for the Ward 5 seat on Las Vegas City Council. The open seat will be decided in a special election on March 27, 2018.
As a long time small business owner and a life-long resident of Ward 5, Crear understands the needs of the district. He has served on the Nevada Board of Regents since 2006, and represents Ward 5 on the Las Vegas Planning Commission.
“The Las Vegas Metro Chamber believes Cedric Crear is an outstanding choice to represent Ward 5 on the Las Vegas City Council. Cedric is a small business owner who understands the challenges of operating a small enterprise and the importance of making sure that city ordinances, mandates, licensure and other regulations are as least burdensome as possible,” says Hugh Anderson, chairman of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee that made the endorsement.
Each of the candidates in the Ward 5 race was interviewed by members of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, a 33 member board comprised of business people from a variety of industries and small businesses. The committee evaluates candidates based on their knowledge and understanding of business issues, stated positions on issues impacting jobs, the economy and business climate, and willingness to work with the Chamber and the business community.
