Today, Tom Burns, Vegas Chamber chairman, and Mary Beth Sewald, president and CEO, issued the following statement regarding the racist damage that was found at the construction site of the Las Vegas Convention Center:
“Actions of racism and hatred go against the values we hold dear and strive to exemplify in the Las Vegas community. They are absolutely unacceptable, especially in the workplace. The Vegas Chamber condemns the racist acts against the foreman at the Las Vegas Convention Center and applauds the quick and decisive action taken by Turner/Martin Harris and the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority to denounce, investigate, and punish the incident. Las Vegas is a diverse and multicultural community, and no one should be fearful of intolerance.”
